The two parties began their cooperation in 2014. SR Technics chief commercial Michael Sattler says the new agreement "strengthens our existing relationship" with Ural Airlines.

Ural Airlines has seven A319, 23 A320 and 13 A321 in service. Eight of the 43 aircraft are powered by International Aero Engines V2500s, and the rest by CFM56-5Bs. The carrier has another seven A320 with CFM56 engine in order.

The airline was founded in 1943 as Sverdlovsk State Air Enterprises, and later became part of Aeroflot, the Soviet state airline, in charge of the Yekaterinburg airport. After the division of Aeroflot, Ural Airlines became a public limited company incorporated under the laws of the Russian Federation on December 28, 1993, and the airline business was separated from the airport.
