American Airlines Officially Receives Boeing 787-8
24 January 2015. American Airlines officially receives first delivery of Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner, the carrier become the second operator of Dreamliner in United States.
The Boeing 787-8 registered as N800AN, and the aircraft has taken from Boeing's plant at Everett fly to American Airlines base at Dallas/For Worth International Airport.
Before the aircraft introduce to international routes, likely American Airlines wants to fly in domestic routes first for the next two months.
Doug Parker, chief of the airlines says you need to spend some time with new aircraft type flying it around til you can actually fly to international routes. He added company needs more than one aircraft in international routes.
Previously, American Airlines planned to receive first delivery in November 2014 buts delay in certifying. The carrier expects to receive second Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner in the next coming weeks.
