Air India Receives Airbus A320neo

Air India Receives Airbus A320neo from Alafco. The Indian carrier has received its first Airbus A320neo, becoming the ninth Asian operator of the type.

The aircraft is the first of 14 that the carrier will be leasing from the Aviation Leasing and Financing Company (ALAFCO). The engine-powered CFM International Leap 1A, registered VT-EXF, is also the first narrow body re-engined for the lessor, who has ordered 85 jets from the A320neo family.

In November of last year, Air India also issued a tender to dry rent up to seven new A320neo aircraft of up to 12 years. He had requested that the aircraft be powered by Leap 1A engines and delivered before June 30, 2018.

Currently Air India has 110 aircraft in service, of which 68 are aircraft of the A320 family. Photo credit goes to Airbus.
