The carrier says the 787-10s will initially be used on crew training flights to Bangkok and Kuala Lumpur before starting regular Osaka services in May.

The 787 of SIA will be equipped with 337 seats in two classes: 36 in business and 301 in economics.

"We are honored to be the first to fly the highly advanced Boeing 787-10," says Tan Kai Ping, senior vice president of marketing planning for the operator. "It will be a key element of SIA's overall growth strategy, which will allow us to expand the reach of our network and strengthen our operations."

The Singaporean Flag Carrier has firm orders for 49 Boeing 787-10, powered by Rolls-Royce Trent 1000-TEN engines.
