Lockheed Successfully Delivers 400th C-130J Hercules. Lockheed Martin delivered its 400th J-model (C-130J) Hercules on February 9, since operations with the global fleet have passed 1.7 million flight hours.

Transferred to the Special Operations Command of the US Air Force. The aircraft will be converted from its current MC-130J configuration to a "Ghostrider" AC-130J gunship.

Seventeen nations currently operate variants of the "Super Hercules", which is assembled at the Marietta site of Lockheed in Georgia.

The J-model transport aircraft was launched for the first time in April 1996, with deliveries that began in September 1998, to the Royal Air Force of the United Kingdom.

The operating nations are Australia, Canada, Denmark, France, India, Iraq, Israel, Italy, Kuwait, Norway, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, South Korea, Tunisia, the United Kingdom and the United States.
