British Airways Retrofits A320 With Sharklet Wing-Tip

National carrier of England, British Airways plans to retrofit all of its Airbus A320 Series fleet with sharklet wing-tip.

This plan aims the aircraft to have better performance in fuel consumption.

Currently the carrier has about 60 Airbus A320-200s yet the first ten of the newest fleet will be the first phase in retrofit attempt.

The latest production of Airbus A320-200 will not take hard effort in modification of sharklet wing-tip since the aircraft has meet the standard to fulfill the modified sharklet wing-tip.

Technical spokesperson of British Airways says the sharklet wing-tip will reduce fuel burn, at the results fuel efficiency will even better.

Airbus offers the modification attempt for older Airbus A320, but British Airways is not in rush to retrofit the aircraft.
