Air Canada Orders Boeing 737 MAX With New Winglet Design
Air Canada have completed the order of 109 Boeing 737 Max.
The order includes 33 Boeing 737 Max 8s and 28 Boeing Max 9s and 18 options and 30 purchase rights for additional aircraft Max. It was announced in December 2013.
"We expect our program to renew the fleet of narrow-body 737 Max with a significant cost savings and is a key part of our transformation program element of ongoing costs," said Calin Rovinescu, president and CEO of Air Canada. "Improvements in fuel and maintenance costs projected over 20% per seat generate an estimated CASM [costs per available seat mile] reduction of approximately 10% compared to our existing narrow body fleet."'
The agreement is valued at $ 6.5 million at list prices. The 737 Max is powered by CFM International Leap-1B.
