Last Delivery of Gulfstream G450 Variant
Last Delivery of Gulfstream G450 Variant. Gulfstream delivered the last G450 commercial aircraft on January 19, closing the final derivative of the original GIV after a 30-year production.
The manufacturer based in Savannah, Georgia, delivered 360 GIV over a 12-year period, but orders began to decline after Gulfstream presented the successor to the G500 in October 2014. The G500 was due to enter service at the end of last year, but is now scheduled for its first delivery in early 2018.
Gulfsteam says the G450 line is closing now as the company "prepares to usher in the next generation of commercial aviation with the new G500."
The G500 features a wider cab, fly-by-wire flight controls, active sidebars and Pratt & Whitney Canada PW800 engines.
